ABOUT US

Camping Moulin de la Geneste is located in the Correze region of the Limousin, affectionately known as the "Lake District" of France (fantastic for fishing) and is situated in almost 10 acres of undulating land with a lake and a small trout river.

The campsite is calm and tranquil and most people enjoy quietly relaxing, perhaps after visits to the local area.

There are no activity facilities for children so the site is therefore more suitable for those children who enjoy nature or fishing in the lake. Swimming is not allowed in the campsite lake but we are close to some of the larger lakes in the area which also have beaches and good swimming facilities.

Part of the land and small wood have been "left to nature" and is home to an abundance of birds, butterflies and lizards etc.

Apparently the wood was planted by the original French owner for the main purpose of growing mushrooms and, in season, Cepe and Girolle can often be found in abundance.

The site, run by an English owner, currently offers 25 emplacements (10 of them with 10 ampere electrical supply) and includes 5 holiday bungalows for hire. The bungalows have 2 rooms 3m x 3m plus a covered patio area where occupants like to dine outside.

The bungalows are fully equipped for a family of 4 with fridge, cooker, cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery etc. There is a double bed in the bedroom and a single or double bunk bed available on request for the second room. The bungalow photos show clearly the layout.

There is a drinking water tap at each bungalow but no toilet facilities. The toilet block has to be used for w.c. and showers ………..

The toilet block facilities (equipped also for handicapped) include hot water for showers, dishwashing and handbasins. A washing machine (at 3€ per wash), ironing board, and vidange for caravan toilet emptying are also available for use.

Animals are accepted at the campsite but, dogs in particular, must be kept on a lead.

For those seriously interested in fishing the Limousin is an angler's paradise with some 11,000 Km of rivers in the 1st category, 700 Km in the 2nd and many lakes - some covering up to 7,000 hectares. There are also 39 dammed reservoirs with nearly 5,000 hectares of water (at 2.471 acres per hectare that's enough fishing for even the most professional angler !).
